This week’s blog has been provided by Rev. DeeAnn Weir Morency, the Associate Minister of Unity San Francisco.
Rev. Ken is on vacation.
This week, an historic announcement was made as Kamala Harris became the first Black and Asian woman candidate for the office of Vice President of the United States. Regardless of your personal like or dislike of Harris, this is a very real demonstration of growth and expansion, a step towards something new that is possible, a new potential that is suddenly happening. And, as so often happens when something new actually (some of us might say, finally!) shows up, there are all sorts of responses and reactions that get triggered.
This process of expanding consciousness that we are witnessing on the political stage is also happening within each of us. We are all called to grow and expand, and yet… and yet… that means we have to leave what is familiar and step into new territory. The longer we have been cultivating and building our capacity to grow, the more fluid and integrated the flow of out with the old and in with the new becomes.
Join me this Sunday as we look at Expanding Consciousness: In With the New, and just how it is that we can become a welcoming space for change and transformation.
