With Rev. Ken on vacation, this week’s blog has graciously been provided by Rev. DeeAnn Weir Morency.

Thanksgiving is an opportunity to practice gratitude, and given the year we have all had, standing in your gratitude may actually seem more challenging than usual.  In the midst of whatever tremendous loss you may have experienced this year, remember that your grief and your gratitude are not in competition.

You are a living expression of the Divine, large enough to hold and navigate everything and anything – even if it doesn’t always feel like it.  Gratitude is actually a powerful practice to connect with your True Nature, to remember the truth of who you truly are.  You can hold and be present to whatever is arising emotionally while simultaneously standing in your gratitude for your blessings.

As the holiday season begins, focus on your blessings and acknowledge them with a grateful heart.  Choose to see the Love, Light, and Joy that is all around you.  Connect and share that love with family, friends, and everyone at Unity San Francisco.  I am so deeply, deeply grateful for you and for this beautiful community – thank you for being on this journey with me.  Enjoy Thanksgiving, and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday as we begin our Advent Season of Light with Faith.
