In New Thought teachings, the Levels of Consciousness—Victim, Victor, Vessel, and Verity
(Oneness)— offer a framework for understanding how we navigate life’s unfolding events.
These levels represent more than just abstract ideas; they are the lenses through which we
perceive, interpret, and respond to the world around us.

What’s fascinating is that these levels often operate beneath the surface, guiding our reactions
and choices without us even realizing it. Much like choosing between Windows or Mac, or
preferring Chrome over Safari, our consciousness acts as an operating system for life. It shapes
how we interpret information and how we experience life’s challenges and blessings.

So, why does this matter? Because by becoming aware of which level we’re operating from,
we have the power to shift not only our thinking but also our entire experience of life.

For our purposes, consciousness can be thought of as your mental mindset—the filter through
which you see everything. It’s not just about what you observe, but how you interpret it. As
Anaïs Nin said, “We do not see things as they are, but as we are.” This means that the same
event can be experienced entirely differently depending on our level of consciousness.

A Quick Glance at the Levels

Victim: To Me This is where life feels like it’s happening to you.
Victor: By Me At this level, you’re empowered and feel that life happens by you.
Vessel: Through Me, It’s a place of openness, surrender, and a sense of being guided.
Verity: As Me The awareness of oneness—recognizing that we are all connected and
that the divine flows through everything.

Becoming aware of your current level of consciousness is the first step toward transformation.
It’s like spotting the biases in your browser settings—once you know they’re there, you can
change them. By shifting your consciousness, you can shift your experience and, ultimately, your
life.

This Sunday, we’ll dive into the benefits, challenges, and yes, even the traps of these levels of
consciousness. And we’ll do it with a sense of curiosity and maybe even a bit of humor—after
all, who doesn’t need to laugh at themselves once in a while?

Join us for a journey of self-awareness, spiritual growth, and a good dose of lighthearted fun. See
you there!
