Juneteenth at Unity San Francisco

Black Lives Matter!  This statement should not have to be uttered; unfortunately, it does.  I want to be clear and forthright as I state this on behalf of Unity San Francisco: Black lives matter, and the bias, privilege, and racism that has too long been the norm must be acknowledged and addressed.  We are all divinity in expression, and there are no exceptions and no exclusions from this spiritual principle.

We need profound change in our country and in our hearts – change that preserves and protects the human rights of every individual in this country and on this planet.  400+ years of slavery, murder, and oppression will not be healed overnight or cleared away by legislation.  There is a tremendous amount of pain, sorrow, and anger that must be heard, felt, and allowed to be aired; this is where we must start.  Forgiveness is not genuinely possible until the hurt is acknowledged.

Unity San Francisco is committed to this work of lifting the human consciousness, and we stand true to our Mission Statement as we work to transform ourselves and our world.  We do not have the answers, but we are seeking to understand and are determined to listen with an open heart and mind, as together we prayerfully discern the spiritual and social actions that will create long-lasting and meaningful change.
