In nature, when a plant goes through a harsh winter or a dry summer, it has ways to cope with the harsh environment.  It can drop its leaves or curl them up to reduce moisture loss, and it develops deeper roots so that it can find a steady supply of water and nutrients.  So do we.  When difficulties cause us to reach toward a deeper level of being, we find hidden reserves and build stamina and wisdom for the long haul.  During this period of challenge and change, we stretch and extend the roots of our soul.

While there are no situations in yoru life that define you, they can illuminate and highlight your forgotten attributes.  Today, we stand in our spiritual identity and honor those parts of ourselves that enable us to weather the storm.  No one, no thing, no circumstance can take away our resilient spiritual nature.

Join us this week as we look at the blessings of discomfort.
