The insanity of what we have all agreed to and what we live in is astonishing. Did you know that 45,000 people die each year in the country and that gun violence is now the leading cause of death in children under 18 years of age? Yet, we only pay attention when more than ten people are killed in a single incident or when children are the victims of a mass shooting.
There is an Undeclared War in our Nation, an undeclared war we have agreed to by our silence. One where keeping the right for individuals to buy weapons of mass destruction is primary. Let’s be clear a semi-automatic rifle is a weapon of mass destruction. The shooters in Uvalde, TX, and Buffalo, NY, were too young to rent a car or to drink alcohol legally, but they were each able to purchase several weapons of war.
To change this equation, we must change; we must clear our minds of hatred, anger, and violence. We know the world we live in is the world we hold in our consciousness. Then we must take positive spiritual and physical action in the world!
So, join us as we combine our voices with “March for our Lives,” the movement started by Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School students. Where we will march to create a world of safety and peace. March and raise our voices to establish a system where our children do not have to learn how to protect themselves from bullets but learn to solve problems with dialog and with love! We will march and proclaim the world we imagine and we will create.
