Embrace the Power of Affirmative Prayer

In the heart of Unity and the New Thought movement lies a profound belief in the extraordinary potential of prayer to shape and elevate our lives. This enduring conviction continues to serve as the cornerstone of our spiritual journey, infusing every aspect of our community with purpose and inspiration. From our vibrant Sunday services to enlightening classes, engaging workshops, crucial business meetings, and nurturing spiritual counseling sessions, prayer serves as both our starting point and our destination.

At the genesis of our movement stands the remarkable story of Myrtle and Charles Fillmore. Myrtle’s awe-inspiring healing through the power of prayer spurred her skeptical husband, Charles, to embark on his own transformative quest. Together, their collective journey in prayer sparked the radiant spiritual movement that we are privileged to practice and experience today.

While prayer is a topic widely explored in religious studies, it remains a profound and evolving facet of our human experience. Personally, I find myself continuously deepening my comprehension of prayer. From the rhythmic cadence of scripted prayers to the boundless flow of spontaneous inspiration, the realm of prayer spans diverse cultures and religions. Yet, it stands as the common thread that unites all faiths.

In the tapestry of human spirituality, prayer serves as the unifying force that transcends borders and bridges beliefs. Regardless of our spiritual bearings—be it in the teachings of Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Christianity, Paganism, or the sacred traditions of Native American wisdom—we are all bound by the shared practice of prayer. It stands as the grand unifier, harmonizing the symphony of the world’s faiths.

Join us and Rev. DeeAnn Morency this Sunday and join a movement that embraces the universal language of the soul. Together, we’ll tap into the collective strength of prayer, a force that has shaped our past, illuminated our present and holds the promise of an inspired and interconnected future. We look forward to welcoming you with open hearts and open minds.

More words between Sundays.
