On Wednesday, November 20, it was Transgender Day of Remembrance (along with Transgender Awareness Week on Nov 13-19), and Unity San Francisco stands in solidarity with the transgender community, remembering and honoring the lives lost due to violence and discrimination. Today, we pause to reflect on the resilience, strength, and dignity of transgender individuals and the importance of creating a world where everyone can live authentically and safely.
Transgender Day of Remembrance serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggle for equality, justice, and recognition. At Unity San Francisco, we are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive space for all people, regardless of gender identity. We mourn those who have been taken too soon, and we continue to work toward a world where no one has to live in fear or face violence because of who they are.
Let us honor those we have lost by working together to create a more compassionate, inclusive, and just future for all. May this day remind us of our shared responsibility to support, love, and uplift our transgender siblings, not only today, but every day.
