THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT: LOVE

This week, as I sat in front of my fireplace looking at our Advent wreath, I realized how much these candles mirror my own spiritual journey.

Two weeks ago, we lit Hope/Faith, and I’ll admit — some years I feel full of hope, and other years I’m borrowing a little hope from you. That Advent candle always whispers, “Something new is possible.”

Last week’s candle, Peace, reminded me that peace isn’t something that arrives fully formed — it’s something I choose again and again, often in the middle of life’s noise and stress.

And now we come to Love.
And I’m aware that I can’t jump straight into Love without Hope and Peace grounding me first. I need Hope to remind me change is possible, and Peace to steady my heart — only then am I truly ready to practice Love in a deeper, more spiritual way.

This Sunday, we explore Agape — the Love that doesn’t depend on liking, agreeing, or even understanding someone. It’s the Love that comes from the Christ Consciousness within us.

And here’s the Truth that Unity teaches and I’ve been living into more and more each year:
Christ isn’t “coming” from outside. Christ awakens within us — every time we soften, forgive, listen, or choose compassion when it would be easier not to.

The “Second Coming” happens in us, through us, as us — one loving choice at a time.

I’d love to have you with us this Sunday as we open a little more space in our hearts and explore what Love means on this path of awakening.

Sunday at 11 AM — in person or online
