Have you ever noticed that you can be doing just fine—and then one conversation, one email, one comment, or one piece of news sends you spiraling?

Suddenly, you’re angry. You’re worried. You’re replaying the conversation in your head. You’re imagining what you should have said. And before you know it, someone else is living rent-free in your consciousness.

I know that experience. I think we all do.

But what if the problem isn’t simply what is happening?

What if part of the problem is the consciousness from which we are experiencing it?

In New Thought, we talk about four levels of spiritual consciousness: Victim, Victor, Vessel, and Verity.

In Victim consciousness, life happens to me. I feel powerless in the face of circumstances.

In Victor consciousness, life happens by me. I reclaim my power and realize that I have choices. I can change my thinking, set a boundary, take action, and create something new.

But even personal power has its limits. Eventually, we discover Vessel consciousness, where life happens through me. I don’t have to control everything. I can do what is mine to do and become open to Divine ideas, unexpected possibilities, and a good greater than I can currently imagine.

And finally, there is Verity—or Oneness—where life happens as me. I begin to recognize that I am not separate from the Divine Life I have been seeking.

Here’s the thing: we move through all four.

Sometimes before breakfast.

The spiritual journey isn’t about judging ourselves when we fall into Victim consciousness or congratulating ourselves when we touch Oneness. It is about becoming aware enough to recognize where we are and choose again.

This Sunday, I want us to explore these Four Levels of Consciousness together—not simply as an interesting spiritual idea, but as a practical tool for the places where we are stuck.

Bring the relationship that keeps triggering you.

Bring the situation you can’t seem to change.

Bring the thing you’re trying desperately to control.

Bring the place where you know something in your life is ready to shift.

Because perhaps the question isn’t, “How do I get life to change?”

Perhaps the more powerful question is:

“What needs to shift in me so I can meet my life differently?”

Join me Sunday. Let’s find out together.
