We are about to enter the final quarter of 2020. I think it is fair to say that it is not the way any one of us expected or wanted it to be. There is enormous disruption, pain, and grief right now in our country and in the world. Yet, in the midst of al of this, I see lots of hope and gratitude. There are remarkable acts of courage and compassion happening in our city and in our community every moment. The resilience and creativity of our brothers and sisters have inspired me each and every step along this path.
As we enter this next quarter, let us remember the words from the Gospel of Matthew: With God, all things are possible. When we align our thinking with the Divine, we move mountains and create new paths for ourselves and others. So, now is not the time to despair, but the time to keep putting one foot in front of the other and change the world.
There is a line in the Rickie Byars song, Use Me, that goes, “God needs us to shine its light.” Today, more than ever before, let’s work together and shine our light for the whole world to see!
